Sunset Seagull Card

I used Seafaring Seagull Frame from Meljens and I was totally inspired by a card I saw over at my blogging friend Brenda’s of Floral Fantasies and have had something in mind for a while. I enjoyed making the background. October 2012 020

Ladybugs Birthday Card

This week I have used an image from Bugaboo Stamps and I’ve had my eye on this image for ages and couldn’t wait to start colouring it in ! It’s called Scene it-Ladybugs. There is something about the colour of a ladybug that is delightful and just so very cute! I added Glossy Accents to add some shine to my ladybugs, flower centers and butterflies. I used Sizzix Buttons #5 and die cut my buttons so they exactly match my card! I added a hit of blue to my colouring to create a sunny spring day! As you can see I made an easel card, because this year I decided to try to do more with construction style cards and projects in an effort to expand my horizons. I used hot pink knitting wool, tied off on my buttons to add some texture to my card and spotted designer paper to accentuate my lady bugs spots!

Circle Punch Flower Birthday Card

It was a folding frenzy to make this flower card using 9 x 2 inch circles(1 as a base, 8 for the flower). I had a ball making the petals and I think the pearl brad adds that touch of class. It took quite a while to line up the piercing to create that faux stitching look. It’s the very first card that I have ever taken money for and I sold it for $4 to my wonderful  neighbor, a monumental moment!!

Pink Gem Designs Fairy Teddy Card with Chocolate

We all love chocolate. so what better birthday card than one filled with chocolate!!!!!!! You could also fill it with something like Jewellery– a charm bracelet, earrings… really whatever takes your fancy. I made this using one piece of A4 cardboard. I also tried out cutting vinyl stars in my Cricut  using the Plantin School Book Cartridge and a teal colour vinyl and they turned out brilliantly.I used these stars over the acetate window, and you can see they are shiny and add an extra element to the card. I used my Copic Sketch markers to colour in my Fairy Teddy and used my Copic  Blender pen to create the dots on her wings and dress to tie my polka dot theme together. I floated the stars across the sky above her head to create that magical  floating on air  concept for my fairy teddy. I used 3 colours with the glitter to get just the right look for this sparkly card. Fairy Teddy Card 009

Meljens Birthday Cake Mouse Card

I had a lot of fun creating this Happy Birthday card this week with my new Birthday Cake Mouse Digi from Meljens.. Hope you like how I decorated the inside of the card with balloons everywhere! The balloons flip back and forth as you wiggle the card, it’s so much fun to play with. I used a border punch to create paper lace and then embossed it so it looks even more like lace, but with a fresh and funky feel. I can’t honestly believe I actually had fluro pink cardstock and fluro green cardstock, and after digging through all my green ribbons… yes I actually had fluro green ribbon…what the …where did all that come from!!!!I used a combination of fluro gel pens for the 3 candles and icing and Copics to colour the cake and hungry mouse! I used my new flower soft and after much debate with my daughter to use white or cream we decided on cream flower soft because it looks like real cream oozing out the sides of this delicious chocolate cake.

Daisy Doodles Ryan the Footballer/Soccer Birthday Card

This is my third card for Card Crafter’s Circle Design Team and I made this card for my son’s birthday which isn’t until November, but this is much better than making one at the last minute….. like I usually do!These are his club colours and I laid out his shirt and used my Copic Multi liner .3 to add some extra lines in to his shirt and a background. I haven’t got a colour printer yet or I would have used the grass that comes with this Digi called Ryan the Footballer. I used the digi paper with all the soccer words on the background using Yellow Cardstock in my printer and I’m so happy with this card and of course used my Copics to colour him in. I also added orange boots, these are my son’s favorite boots and added a Nike tick on side of boots because he won’t wear any thing except Nike boots for his Soccer. I love the Justin B haircut, my son loves to flick his hair..just like the digi. Soccer should be my middle name too because all conversations in this house revert to Soccer, as I have not one but two Soccer Tragic’s in our house!! I just hope I can find this card when it’s his birthday!

Bugaboo Stamps Dino Heart 1

I do hope you will be able to join us for our very first challenge over at Card Crafters Circle.
Our theme this week is
CREATE FOR ANY
CELEBRATION!
The challenge will run from Friday 16th December (Australian Time) for a week
This week we have Bugaboo Stamps sponsoring our challenge with the
winner’s prize - their choice of 7 images!
Here is my card

This is the very cute digital  image I used  and it’s available at Bugaboo Stamps Herebug badge 2
I borrowed my friend Vicki Fraser’s (who has Blog Candy at the moment) small polka dot embossing folder for the smaller heart, which I paper pieced. I also paper pieced his feet and embossed as well, and I think it just adds that something extra.

I cut a strip of cardstock and scored to create a zigzag strip to attach to his head so Dino could have a wobbly head! The other stamps (Nitwit Collections) I used on this card came as a free gift with Australian Simply Cards Magazine Issue 34. I used sandpaper on the embossed footprints and had a ball colouring in with my Copics. This is Basic Grey Ribbon , American Crafts Amplified Designer papers Saturday Night Fever and Boogie and matching American Crafts Elements Round Buttons in Leaf.

Magnolia Birthday Card

As you can see I got carried away and embossed two layers on this card and then used my sponging block with some chalk ink to highlight the embossing. I adore this cute Magnolia stamp she is so versatile and had a ball colouring her with my new Copics. I saw the balloons inside the card idea on Valita’s Fresh Folds ages ago and finally tried it out and it adds a real cuteness to the Happy Birthday card!Cards November 2011 004

Flower Birthday Card

I’m a huge fan of lime green and pink together and by having the lime green underneath as my base card it really popped the pretty pink flower off the card . I wanted to create some interest in the flower and add another pink layer so I punched a plain white flower and then stamped baby butterflies on it and then edged it with pink ink so that the flower has lots of layer but kept it’s pinkness. I feel  in this creation I have achieved - less is more! Vincenzo's 16th Birthday November 2011 030

Soccer/Football Birthday Card

I made this for my son for his16th Birthday using a new product I picked up at the Brisbane Craft Fair Anita’s Quality Essential- Die Cut Toppers-Football.Thank goodness my friend Vicki talked me into buying this die cut, it’s great.  I really need a set of Oval Spellbinders as I feel it would have been perfect for an extra layer (something else to tell Santa I really need!) . My son is an amazing soccer player for his age and played in two teams this year , so this was the perfect card for him. This is my first finished easel card and I used up more bits and pieces from my stash and my best find was this ball that I had originally purchased about 3yrs ago with very good intentions to do something  Soccer/Football and finally it has made it onto a card, and the beautiful red embossed cardstock was a hand me down!  Cards October,2011 013

Golf Birthday Card

I made this Golf Birthday Card card for my girlfriends Dad. Clive is 75 today and I was inspired by my friend Vicki Fraser to make this card after she made my hubby a golf card for his birthday. I’m always happy to take bits and pieces no longer wanted in my circle of crafters and the grass and sky are all wallpapers given to me. I love the texture of the green wallpapers they really add a great effect  for the grass and the sky wallpaper… well I wish I had a whole roll of that! I used my Stampin Up Scallop Edge Border Punch to make the grass.Cards October,2011 009

Magnolia Singing Tilda

Anita's 11th Birthday October 2011 057

Anita's 11th Birthday October 2011 059

I really enjoyed making this card for my daughters birthday, she loves to sing and my girlfriend Vicki Fraser bought this Magnolia Tilda Singing stamp for me so I could make my darling daughter the perfect birthday card. I paper pieced Singing Tilda to get the dress just the right colour and shaped it to give it a slight curve using my flower tool, before gluing into position.  I chose a designer paper that my wonderful friend Frances from Stamp Owl gave me for Tilda’s dress to match the dress my daughter wears on stage that shimmers and sparkles. I used a purple gel pen and highlighted with Ice Stickles Glitter Glue to finish.I wanted to use some shading behind and used my Spellbinder Circle as a mask to get the white edge effect with my Sponging Block and Colorbox Chalk Ink. Then I used the Tim Holtz Alterations Carnivale to personalise the card and add her age using some new Glitter Cardstock. I wanted an unusual shape card  and placed Tilda looking down from the top of the card like my daughter does when she’s on stage.
