Christmas Gifts Card

This Christmas Tree looks warm, cozy and festive and has a lovely Christmas feeling to it. To create the card, I used a sketch a girlfriend gave me which made it so much easier to make decisions on how to put my card together. I love Christmas morning and all the presents wrapped under the tree. My kids favourite joke present for their father is to wrap his wallet, good for a laugh!! Giving Thanks

The joy of parenthood and children is certainly something to be thankful for and I know how blessed I am to have my own two beautiful children. In fact I have turned into one of those Mum’s whose whole life revolves around their children and the activities they have embraced. I am thankful that in all my children attempt… they try their hardest, what more could you ask for! When I saw this image it reminded me of when I was pregnant, and I had this favourite dress I wore and I have copied the fabric design onto my image Mom Loves You from Milk Coffee

HO HO MERRY CHRISTMAS

I love this image from Bugaboo Stamps because it reminds me of my own two cute kids and how happy that I am to be truly blessed to have them in my life. I would also like to thank my girlfriend Vicki for helping me work out my card design, you know what I mean… when you just go blank…. and not sure what to do, and there is a looming deadline. I’ve had my eye on this red & white striped ribbon for a while, and a friend recently gave me some so I’ve used it to add texture to the front of my card combined with the embossed layer. Winter Bird Christmas Card

I used Winter Bird from The Doodle Garden for my Christmas card and created an extra few branches for my birdy to sit on using my Bird punch, which has been literally gathering dust as I haven’t used it it ages. I also used the punch poo from my snowflake border for the little stars.  I just love snow and this reminds me of all the wonderful holidays I have had at the snow. I remember that moment when for the first time I actually noticed a snowflake on my ski jacket and it looked like the snowflakes on Christmas cards I had received over the years and I realised that is how they really look…this was a more than 20years ago folks when I had lovely young eyes and could still see everything!Vincenzo's 17th November 2012 005

Christmas Card

I used some patterned paper from Kaisercraft and the flowers on this paper are all velvet. and it feels so nice and especially perfect for a wintery style Christmas Card.  I wanted Candy Cane Ava from Bugaboo Stamps to look like a Christmas ornament hanging under the tree. I added a smile to Ava with my Copic Multi liner.

Off to the Races

I love the sound of horses when they run and this digi really adds a bit of race track action. I did not have a hat stamp so I drew this hat with my Copic Multiliner to create a foreground for all the glamour girls out there who wear hats to the races, I could not resist but to add a feather to this hat. I was given this amazing ribbon by a Polish girl friend and it adds such  a nice detail. Race Day October 2012 002  Race Day October 2012 003

Halloween Card

This is the first Halloween card I have ever made. One kid in our street started off the Halloween Trick or Treat tradition a few years ago and it’s grown bigger every year since and even the surrounding streets have followed!! All I could think of was Johnny Depp for Halloween so I used a pirate from KPM Doodles as my focal point, I added smudged eyeliner and dreadlocks(eyelash wool melted with Embossing Heat Gun) and a beard to make him really look ready to Trick or Treat!  I added glitter to my shimmering moon and I created my own sentiments. The pumpkins, moon, ghost, little witch (inside card) and candy bags digis are all from KPM Doodles and I really enjoyed creating a scene. I’ve finally ticketed off my I’d love to do list …my hand punched fence.Anita's 12th Birthday October 2012 038

Inside my card I have floorboards with spiders, very CREEPY!!!

Christmas Card in Black,White & Red

I used Holly’s Stocking from The Digi Garden for my latest Christmas creation. Christmas is coming so fast I only hope to get as many cards made over the next few weeks to be really ready, as a card maker it’s embarrassing  to give out store bought cards. I bought this swirly Winterland  tree die at the last craft fair and it was so exciting to finally use it. On Christmas day in our house we dress up in Santa Hats even though we live in a tropical climate but determined to celebrate the occasion, this image reminded me of our family.  I added some flower soft to her hat to give it a fluffy look and Santa Stocking and a smile to Holly with my Copic Multi Liner because she is definitely thinking about what Santa is going to bring! I also added baby pearl bling as earrings!! Holly's Stocking 001

    Vintage Card

I had a lot of fun making this Vintage style card and I used two papers and ripped the edge thru the middle and inked the edges.I then sprayed walnut inks over the top, green ink over the blue paper on the left and a brown ink over the right side. I had a list in my head of products I wanted to see on my card …pearls definitely, vintage flowers, lace which I left a frayed edge and wove some satin ribbon thru for extra detail , I even managed to add a feather. The big bow ribbon has detailed stitching and a perfect accent. I purchased this ruler ribbon on the bottom recently and was dying to use it! She is such a sweet little girl and she has that lovely vintage childhood memories feel to it, kind of like the Secret Garden.Vintage Card Sept 2012 004

    Roses & Ribbon Pocket Card

When I decided to use this Full Bloom Rose digi this week from Happileigh Scrappin all I could visualise was a pot full of flowers. So I made a Flower Pot Pocket Card and changed the dimensions to suit my image. I used a kraft coloured cardboard scrap of packaging that had black marker writing on it and most of that is concealed by being either under designer paper or inside the pocket, but the kraft colour was just right for what I had in mind. After I made the base of the card I sponged the edges with pink ink inside and out and now it’s finished you would never that I recycled this cardboard but I’m trying to be thrifty and even the ribbon is from a box of chocolates I was given about three years ago.I also used a second lovely thick ribbon underneath and the sheer one over the top for a lovely effect. There is some gain by being a hoarder and today was the day I used a few bits and pieces up that have been in my stash for years!!! Roses Sept 2012 008

    Sympathy Card

I decided that I did not have a Sympathy Card and I wanted to have one ready, so I picked out Inspirational Cross 1 from Stamp Art Designs by Kathryne. I added a dimensional layer on lower leaves and the centre flower  and used dimensional adhesive. As soon as I made it I my Mother in Law needed it for a dear friend of hers. A friend of mine designed the sketch for me to use and I used some gingham to contrast with my background paper and colour matched my flower to the gingham. Another girlfriend gave me this lovely ribbon and this worked nicely to match in with my card. Sympathy Card Sept 2012 003

    Sweet as Cherry Pie

This image reminds me of my girlfriend Tracey who makes amazing meals and especially desserts, so when I saw this image called Dotti Baking from Bugaboo Stamps I had to have it! I decided to make my own sentiment on the computer and I’m very pleased how it turned out.  I used my White Gel Pen to add tiny white dots to her dress and dimensional adhesive to really lift the pie…it’s making me hungry talking about it!  I managed to find some paper in my stash that has cherry’s and I’m committed to using what I’ve got and as I explore my stash I definitely have more than I thought! I used my button die to get the perfect colour for my buttons!

    Star Card

I am now a member of the Design Team at Twist of Faith and here is my card for the first challenge. I made a Star Card and used a paper pad I received Free with Australian Simply Cards Magazine recently, the paper is from Webster’s Pages Petite Papers-Collection Combo Pack. I used this cute Garden Angel from The Doodle Garden. I think the pearl brad gives it a upmarket look crossed with my shabby Chic vintage styling. I enjoyed distressing the edges and also inking every edge as well for additional dimension! I had fun making this card over several days! I borrowed my girlfriends oval dies for my focal point and I’m keen to add them to my Santa Wish List !Star Card 004

Thank You Card with a Family Baked Dinner!

I have only used fabric once before on a card and it was quite a challenge to think what to do for my card this week. I recently went thru my daughters wardrobe and anything she won’t wear or is too small I popped in bags under the house and plan to take it to the Op Shop. I dug through the bags and found a brand new dress she refused to wear and used my Stampin Up Top Note Die to cut the fabric and a Sizzix Hearts Die to cut some old denim shorts of hubby’s for the heart. Hubby nearly had a heart attack at the chopped up shorts until he realised they were the one’s that were too small for him now!! I used my fingernails to pull at the edges of my fabrics to fray the fabric for a Shabby Chic effect.I used a paper pad I received Free with Australian Simply Cards Magazine recently, the paper is from Webster’s Pages Petite Papers-Collection Combo Pack. It’s great when you can use pre colour coordinated  papers and the card comes together that much easier, I really love this script paper in the background. I borrowed a Tim Holtz Tattered Florals Die from a girlfriend at my group day last week and it’s such a pretty flower.  I used an image from Milk Coffee called I Love you Mom. There’s nothing like a family roast dinner to warm your heart!

    Immies Scarf Christmas Card

Christmas is coming and I’ve now made a start to have a few cards ready in time for Christmas! I used Immies Scarf from  The Digi Garden  and I love that cheeky smile! I used a metallic gold paper to cut my snowflakes instead of traditional white to give the card a touch of class and keep a warm cosy colour scheme going, it’s change for me as I usually love to use pink and green. I have never been a scarf wearer but my daughter’s singing teacher has insisted we invest and wear them. We have a nice collection of scarves thanks to Nanna Joan who has knitted us quite a few now, so we have lots of colours to chose from when we go out. July 2012 Sport Carnival & Cards 081

    Baby Girl Card

I adore this cute little baby girl in her pram that I picked out at Pink Gem Designs and I just couldn’t wait to colour it in! I always enjoyed dressing my daughter when she was a baby in pretty pink clothes…and still do. Just for a bit of fun I used stickers for a change to embellish my card, and I have thrown a rattle out of the pram in fond memories of my my kids!!! I couldn’t tell you how many times we came home after a day at the shops pushing my pram around and arriving home with baby with just one sock or shoe or missing toys! I did a bit of faux stitching and used acetate to create a bit of a see thru section. I got to use my new Die-namics Flower Border both inside and outside my card and I used glitter glue in the centers. I cut the baby head and bib out and added this as a dimensional layer. I cut my Valerian Flourish Memory Box die cut into three pieces and arranged it to create a Cinderella carriage feel.
