True Love Circle Card

My girlfriend Vicki and I made this construction style card together and thank goodness for the telescoping card instructions, but like anything it’s easy when you know how!!!It swivels open using the brads, clever design, and I had a lot of fun making it. I used Vicki’s Kaisercraft stamps and several of her dies. I haven’t used blue in ages and thought it was a nice change.Cards January 2012 085

Pink Gem Designs Fairy Teddy Card with Chocolate

We all love chocolate. so what better birthday card than one filled with chocolate!!!!!!! You could also fill it with something like Jewellery– a charm bracelet, earrings… really whatever takes your fancy. I made this using one piece of A4 cardboard. I also tried out cutting vinyl stars in my Cricut  using the Plantin School Book Cartridge and a teal colour vinyl and they turned out brilliantly.I used these stars over the acetate window, and you can see they are shiny and add an extra element to the card. I used my Copic Sketch markers to colour in my Fairy Teddy and used my Copic  Blender pen to create the dots on her wings and dress to tie my polka dot theme together. I floated the stars across the sky above her head to create that magical  floating on air  concept for my fairy teddy. I used 3 colours with the glitter to get just the right look for this sparkly card. Fairy Teddy Card 009

In an effort to be frugal I always try to be as economical as possible with my projects as you can see.

As you can’t see…. as once it’s all glued down….. and otherwise it’s just such a waste!Christmas Cards December 2011 003

Christmas Treat Box

It’s such a cute little box and so quick to make, and  M & M’s are perfect to pop in or small mints…any chocolate really. It’s made using a 6x 6 inch designer paper double sided and scored like tic tac toe and then the extra score lines to fold and a flap to finish, easy peasy when you know how. When I get a chance I will do a YouTube tutorial for all you visual learners,…. like me. I really enjoy the challenge of construction and hate reading instructions but it’s so worth it when it’s finished!Christmas Box December 2011 005

Spellbinder Nestabilities Peony Handmade Flower & Recycling Plastic Bag Tutorial

I received the wonderful gift of socks for a gift and kept the plastic bag with zip to recycle. I made the flower using the Spellbinders Nestabilities Peony using 3 coloured papers, for assembly see my Make a Flower Video on my Trish and Treasure YouTube Channel. I  die cut two Stampin Up Sizzix Bigz Top Note out: one in polka dot paper, and the other in white. I used the white one on the inside to hide out the sock packaging details and I used Tim Holtz Alterations Carnivale lettering die, using up scraps left over from my polka dot paper for the lettering inside for ANITA. I made this for my darling daughter! I have also made a YouTube Tutorial so you can see how easy it was to make!cardmaking vids 006

Hair Bow

I really enjoyed making this bow for my daughters hair and I finally got the chance to share this after she has already worn this in 20 shows. The wardrobe assistant asked me to sew this onto a comb as it was the perfect green to match one of her costumes. I thought I could just see myself making a mess of that, so I bought a glue gun and used lashings of glue along the top edge of a hair comb and the pre tied bow stuck like a dream to the hair comb. The glue line is completely concealed once in her hair. There is nothing like having to do something that pushes you outside your normal boundaries and I now feel I could certainly expand on this idea, time permitting! The best part about the bow is my daughter loves it, and she can put it in her hair on her own.
I’m entering this bow in a challenge at Reasonable Ribbon http://reasonableribbon.blogspot.com/2011/08/challenge-29-sizzlin-summer-theme.htmlAugust 1st 2011 Bow 017

Grassy Head

This Grassy Head was a gift to my son from Linda, who is such a wonderful teacher at his school. She bought it at the local Art Markets because he is such a hard worker at school and always tries his hardest in all that he does.It sat in the gift bag until the end of the Xmas school holidays and the instructions said place in a glass of water and regularly keep topped up with water. This activated the grass seeds and voila, he had hair! He is such a cute character that lives on my kitchen sink catching a few rays of sun and I also snapped a few photos on the back verandah. Very arty, unique and unusual gift!

Paper Flower

Trish's Cards Feb 2011 104
A friend gave me this paper flower and I have no idea how it was made but I think it is very beautiful. Probably too big and bulky for a card but great as a table decoration or on top of a present.

Gift Card Wallet

I made this for my daughter and it perfectly fits an iTunes gift card. This is my attempt at a Gucci style wallet, with a very girlie style.

Oriental Star Book

I have taken a lot of classes with Jane Norrish and this was the very fist class I ever did with her and I was so impressed with myself for completing this project before I went home from class as I had never done such a complicated class. Jane made it all so simple and easy to follow and I couldn’t wait to do more classes with her after that. Her main design tip was to use a piercing template for the pages as this was the trick to make the project so neat and we used a book binding thread to secure the project together and even some fancy beading on the seam. We used foils to add some interest to the pages and the Gold Krylon pen to do some edges, special affects and details. Some of the image colouring was done with chalks to create a more subtle affect. I hope you enjoyed looking at one of my many treasures.
