Christmas Gifts Card

This Christmas Tree looks warm, cozy and festive and has a lovely Christmas feeling to it. To create the card, I used a sketch a girlfriend gave me which made it so much easier to make decisions on how to put my card together. I love Christmas morning and all the presents wrapped under the tree. My kids favourite joke present for their father is to wrap his wallet, good for a laugh!!

Giving Thanks

The joy of parenthood and children is certainly something to be thankful for and I know how blessed I am to have my own two beautiful children. In fact I have turned into one of those Mum’s whose whole life revolves around their children and the activities they have embraced. I am thankful that in all my children attempt… they try their hardest, what more could you ask for! When I saw this image it reminded me of when I was pregnant, and I had this favourite dress I wore and I have copied the fabric design onto my image Mom Loves You from Milk Coffee.

Grow With Love

I picked Watering my Garden digi from Soft Pencil Studios because this activity in Summer is so very relaxing for me and one of my all time favourite things to do at home! I used my Retro Flower Punch in two sizes to create my own flowers and they tone in nicely with my colour scheme.

Sweet as Cherry Pie

This image reminds me of my girlfriend Tracey who makes amazing meals and especially desserts, so when I saw this image called Dotti Baking from Bugaboo Stamps I had to have it! I decided to make my own sentiment on the computer and I’m very pleased how it turned out. I used my White Gel Pen to add tiny white dots to her dress and dimensional adhesive to really lift the pie…it’s making me hungry talking about it! I managed to find some paper in my stash that has cherry’s and I’m committed to using what I’ve got and as I explore my stash I definitely have more than I thought! I used my button die to get the perfect colour for my buttons!

Charlotte and Butterfly Gate Fold Card

I made this gate fold card using a beautiful gold ribbon to keep it closed. I love this sweet little girl called Charlotte and Butterfly from Milk Coffee Stamps and I really wanted her in a red dress and to have a white collar and white socks with white lace trim, so cute!!!! I enjoyed my colour scheme of gold for our challenge this week and the gold cardstock was like a mirror I can nearly see myself taking the photo,too funny! The embossed butterflies added to the theme and added a touch of class. I watched a you tube tube tutorial to try to improve my hair colouring and swapped a few colours around and used what I had to try to create golden hair. It is my challenge to myself this year to improve my colouring in. I really enjoyed colouring in her dress and then adding spots with my white gel pen, that was fun! On the inside, I wanted it to look like a flower so I added a flourish under the die cuts and I think it looks clever. Then I added another butterfly so the inside and outside theme was carried through.

Daisy Teapot Card

I am inspired this year to make as many construction cards as possible,so this week I made my first gatefold card. It took me ages to make this card and I fiddled with the Copic colouring, added glitter and dimensional magic to the flowers, and then layered them with dimensional adhesive. I literally killed one set of flowers beyond retrieval with the heat gun (don’t ask) but in the end all the flowers looked pretty. I seem to have an affiliation with bright colours especially pink and green and I really enjoyed the coloring in part …a lot!!! I decorated inside and out to match, and fell in love with this teapot which even has some gorgeous polka dots on it. I cut a second bee out and layered him over the top, the larger wing I cut and pulled forward to give the effect of flight. The line of tiny words under the bee inside the card says…You’re one in a Buzzillion…Naturally this teapot says it all, friendship and a cup of tea… what more could you want!!!!

Christmas Treat Box

It’s such a cute little box and so quick to make,and M & M’s are perfect to pop in or small mints…any chocolate really. It’s made using a 6x 6 inch designer paper double sided and scored like tic tac toe and then the extra score lines to fold and a flap to finish,easy peasy when you know how. When I get a chance I will do a YouTube tutorial for all you visual learners,…. like me. I really enjoy the challenge of construction and hate reading instructions but it’s so worth it when it’s finished!

DINOSAUR KIDS CARD

I have also made a You Tube tutorial video of this card and will blog it shortly. Every little boy loves .Dinosaurs so it’s the perfect card for a little man in my life. I am entering this card in Annabelles Challenge 1. I have used 1 new stamp it is the Happy Birthday from Stampin Up – Punch Bunch and 2 punches my scallop square and my round tab punch both from Stampin Up and 3 bling!

Lion King Happy Birthday

I’ve had a winter flu and my kids have been on school holidays(3weeks) and normally that would mean a break but I have a performing arts daughter who auditioned and got a few parts in Jack & the Beanstalk Pantomime at Spotlight Theatre on the Gold Coast,Australia.She played the hen that lays the golden egg and Milky White the Cow(who Jack sells for a handful of beans….. I’m sure she’s worth way more than that!) and a mean and creepy mini monster who belongs to the Giant, a cute villager and a special appearance as Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz (sings her solo) who gets lost and ends up in the wrong Pantomime. So she’s only 10 yrs. old and it was hair, make up and go go go(8 costume changes per show). She gave a professional performance next to some very well know TV and Theatre celebrities and had a fantastic learning opportunity to fine tune her craft and learn from the greats in the industry and after 20 performances we are both exhausted …..so life in our household has been so full on.

I’ve also just added the adorable kissing bear at the top of my blog please take as many kisses as you need!

Back into card making which I love and I used this Party Animal paper by Kaisercraft which is so much fun to use.I wanted to emboss the striped paper for added affect and I’m so happy with the result, it really ties the project together.

Neddy the Nice Horse

Now that I’m an Aunty several times over (my family are like rabbits) this card is for my young nephew.Here’s a poem my Mum used to recite to me when I was a little tacker. I love this poem, sorry I do not know it’s origins.
