Sweet as Cherry Pie

This image reminds me of my girlfriend Tracey who makes amazing meals and especially desserts, so when I saw this image called Dotti Baking from Bugaboo Stamps I had to have it! I decided to make my own sentiment on the computer and I’m very pleased how it turned out.  I used my White Gel Pen to add tiny white dots to her dress and dimensional adhesive to really lift the pie…it’s making me hungry talking about it!  I managed to find some paper in my stash that has cherry’s and I’m committed to using what I’ve got and as I explore my stash I definitely have more than I thought! I used my button die to get the perfect colour for my buttons!

Star Card

I am now a member of the Design Team at Twist of Faith and here is my card for the first challenge. I made a Star Card and used a paper pad I received Free with Australian Simply Cards Magazine recently, the paper is from Webster’s Pages Petite Papers-Collection Combo Pack. I used this cute Garden Angel from The Doodle Garden. I think the pearl brad gives it a upmarket look crossed with my shabby Chic vintage styling. I enjoyed distressing the edges and also inking every edge as well for additional dimension! I had fun making this card over several days! I borrowed my girlfriends oval dies for my focal point and I’m keen to add them to my Santa Wish List !Star Card 004

Immies Scarf Christmas Card

Christmas is coming and I’ve now made a start to have a few cards ready in time for Christmas! I used Immies Scarf from  The Digi Garden  and I love that cheeky smile! I used a metallic gold paper to cut my snowflakes instead of traditional white to give the card a touch of class and keep a warm cosy colour scheme going, it’s change for me as I usually love to use pink and green. I have never been a scarf wearer but my daughter’s singing teacher has insisted we invest and wear them. We have a nice collection of scarves thanks to Nanna Joan who has knitted us quite a few now, so we have lots of colours to chose from when we go out. July 2012 Sport Carnival & Cards 081

Christmas Fireplace Card

I love sitting by a nice cozy fireplace in winter and naturally that’s never going to happen on Christmas morning in Australia but hey…I can dream of a white Christmas!!! Here I am with a Christmas card ready in July, there lies a miracle. In fact this is the second Christmas card I made this week, I am on a roll! This year I am trying… and it’s not in my nature, but try I will to get as organised as possible this year. I’m so delighted with this card as I used my new Memory Box Die that I got at the Craft Show and it really adds a pretty dimension. This digi is called Christmas Hearth and it’s from Happileigh Scrappin' and when I saw the cat on the mat I knew it was for me!!! This cat reminds me of my daughters singing teachers cat, and when I’m lucky it gives me some attention and sits on my lap while I pretend to read, but really I just sit on the couch and listen to my daughter sing!

Bird on a Quilted Card

I have always wanted to sew with a sewing machine and make a quilt, so with our challenge this week I made a mini quilt for my card and as I don’t have a sewing machine, it’s faux stitching for me!I punched out 16 squares and I used two matching double sided papers. I know I keep using my favorite colours green and pink but they just speak to me! I then taught my daughter how to paper pierce using a Stampin Up product, she got about half of the squares done for me and really enjoyed it until her favorite show came on TV and she dumped me like a bag of potatoes! I then used a very fine marker to make the stiches. I recently cut a few die cuts in white from my girlfriends new dies and she did the same with mine and I used these on my card, it was great to have these pre cut to fiddle with and made the perfect addition to my card!  I used my Copics to colour this cute little bird sitting in a tree called MORNING GLORY and matched these colours to my designer  papers. I added glitter glue to my ribbon bow and I am really pleased with how that makes the ribbon look so much prettier, I am so glad I took up card making!!!Annie the Musical 20th April,2012 083

Spesch Birthday Card using Paper Piecing

I have to say I am feeling very special as my girlfriend Vicki Fraser arrived with a card ready to make and like twins we made one each only differing with our coloring in and ribbons and buttons. We used her new Spesch Designer Stamp and she is so very cute, and cut around her so she popped off the background paper. Vicki had already sorted out two paper piecing- firstly the dress and then the balloons and pre cut them both ,how lucky am I! I used my Whispers Strokes Marker to colour her hair, eyes and dress trim and my favorite markers ever are my Copic  Markers E11 & E00 which I used for the face/skin tones.Copic markers are so on my Santa Wish List!Vicki got these lovely rounded bling as a gift with purchase from the Craft Queen, they are so classy.I used some glitter to accentuate her pretty bow in her hair. Vicki cut the grass using her border punch that had a kind of soft wavy line then going back thru the punch off center this time and not lining it up makes grass, too easy! I had a heap of fun making this card!
