Halloween Card

This is the first Halloween card I have ever made. One kid in our street started off the Halloween Trick or Treat tradition a few years ago and it’s grown bigger every year since and even the surrounding streets have followed!! All I could think of was Johnny Depp for Halloween so I used a pirate from KPM Doodles as my focal point, I added smudged eyeliner and dreadlocks(eyelash wool melted with Embossing Heat Gun) and a beard to make him really look ready to Trick or Treat!  I added glitter to my shimmering moon and I created my own sentiments. The pumpkins,moon,ghost, little witch (inside card) and candy bags digis are all from KPM Doodles and I really enjoyed creating a scene. I’ve finally ticketed off my I’d love to do list …my hand punched fence.

Inside my card I have floorboards with spiders, very CREEPY!!!

Bird on a Quilted Card

I have always wanted to sew with a sewing machine and make a quilt, so with our challenge this week I made a mini quilt for my card and as I don’t have a sewing machine, it’s faux stitching for me!I punched out 16 squares and I used two matching double sided papers. I know I keep using my favorite colours green and pink but they just speak to me! I then taught my daughter how to paper pierce using a Stampin Up product, she got about half of the squares done for me and really enjoyed it until her favorite show came on TV and she dumped me like a bag of potatoes! I then used a very fine marker to make the stiches. I recently cut a few die cuts in white from my girlfriends new dies and she did the same with mine and I used these on my card, it was great to have these pre cut to fiddle with and made the perfect addition to my card!  I used my Copics to colour this cute little bird sitting in a tree called MORNING GLORY and matched these colours to my designer  papers. I added glitter glue to my ribbon bow and I am really pleased with how that makes the ribbon look so much prettier, I am so glad I took up card making!!!

How to Store Your Punches

A great way to store your crafting punches, that is space efficient and easy to store on a bookshelf or even take with you to craft class. I hope you like my storage ideas.

Remember to always label your punches with your name!!!!

Stampin Up–Make and Take

On the weekend I went to the Australasian Scrapbook and Papercraft Expo in Brisbane,Australia with my friend’s Vicki and Roz. I did a make and take at the Stampin Up stand run by Chrissie Allen, Jenn Duncan, Sherri Freese, Sue Janke, Megan Kinsey and Susan Hurley-Luke. I really enjoyed this make and take and tried the Stampin Up scissors and they were surprisingly brilliant and so easy to work with, now I have some thing else to add to my wish list. I love the Strength & Hope stamp set they used. If you buy a set from one of the girls  before 31st July they will donate $2 from the sale to The Breast Cancer research Foundation. The girls had the most amazing cards and scrapbooking pages on display, I wanted to make them all! Very inspiring!
