I decided to have a play around and try to clear emboss onto patterned paper which is something I’ve never tried before. I adore bright and bold colours because they make me happy just looking at them.so I chose this patterned paper sheet in my DCWV The Blossoms & Butterflies Stack to try out this new technique combined with this scalloped star stamp that I bought from a lovely lady clearing out all her old stamps. Well …she never made it out of the car park to try to sell them at our group day I bought them all, because they were so unusual and she gave me an absolute bargain and threw in some free stamps for my darling daughter. I knew the scallops on the star would soften the strong diamond pattern and make an unusual Christmas Card. So I clear embossed the star onto the patterned paper then used my Stamp It Sponging Block with Vicki Fraser’s Stampin Up Temping Turquoise Inkpad. I’m definitely getting that Temping Turquoise Inkpad I just love this colour.Anyway,I sponged it until I covered the square of patterned paper and then rubbed over with a tissue to remove he excess ink to reveal my clear embossing. I think it turned out great. Then to the job of mounting it.I went and bought some new cardstock so it all matched beautifully . I was passionate about doing some paper piercing and using my new Stampin Up photo corner punch and very pleased with the result of this card inside and out. Those who know me well, know I am currently addicted to glitter and bling. I’m sorry but I just can’t help myself there is glitter and bling everywhere on this card and the dog who forever sits underneath me, but really who doesn’t love glitter and bling!

This is such a cute stamp from a set that I picked up years ago at a bargain shop. I’ve finally discovered if you colour your image in the same colours as your papers it all look so much better. I’m going to save up and buy some Sketch Copic markers because you can clearly see my image is furry because the markers I have seem to do this.It might take me five years to save up for Copic Sketch markers but there is no point only buying one.

I clear embossed this Stamp It hibiscus flower stamp over patterned paper then used a Kaiser craft Hot Pink and purple inkpad with a Stamp It sponging block to blend over card and removed any excess ink by rubbing a tissue over .I then added the glitter, butterflies and bling to finish!
I decided I was on a roll and decorated inside my card as well, it’s nice to add that little extra surprise when you open up the card.

Vicki Fraser and I teamed up on Sunday to try out some new techniques. I took white gloss cardstock and streaked purple and pink inks over it,then clear embossed this sentiment from Stamp It. Then I mixed up purple paint and glitter and painted in the same streaked way as the inks. When nearly dry removed excess paint from my clear embossed sentiment to reveal “Perfect Moments” then added some purple ink over to define words using my Stamp It Sponging Block. I decided my ribbon need a pin so I made my own with beads from my daughters stash and added a little glitter. Then I decided to decorate inside the card with a very pleasing result. I’m happy with these photos you can see a lot of detail.

I was delighted to read that my challenge card was spotlighted at The Paper Variety.
This is what they Said:
Team B DT member, Melissa chose to feature Trish Munro's beautiful card!
Melissa said, "This card really caught my attention. I like the color selection and coordination, the energy of the design with the butterflies going from small to larger right at the point where the main element meets the embossed butterfly background. The glitter just makes it dance."
I had a special request for this card in my comments from Vicki Fraser at CardarTart for this card with purple in fact we kind of pre planed it over the phone, so here it is. I also got to try out some new ideas I’d been thinking about for a while . I used pale pink Kaisercraft paper and Kaisercraft Hot Pink Ink inside my embossing folder and when it came out I thought it looked too neat so I spritzed it with my own Shimmer mist and this seemed to blend the ink to create this effect and then I sponged the edges to finish it off with a little more depth of colour, so that the colour mirrored the same pink of my flowers in the main image. Instead of spending ages trying to find the right ribbon I embossed then folded up a ribbon out of matching cardstock for a perfect colour match for my card, I didn’t measure the folds I just went for it. At the bottom I used my 3 bling and to add a little extra I used glitter around each bling, Vicki always says a bit of glitter always makes everything better!.
I couldn’t resist and added another photo of this card again with a change of background fabric and how it makes the card look so different.

Here is the adorable mailbox my wonderful talented hubby Mark Munro whipped up for me using Bali Fish Scale Shingles available from Casbah Imports. What more could a girl want!
At my stamping group my friend Kaye Clyma made this gorgeous card and a kit for me to share her idea. This is Kaye’s sample card and the one below in blue and yellow I made. The hardest part was fitting the ribbon off centre and it was the first time I twirled wire. This card design doesn’t use a lot of product and is an economical way to use up bits of patterned paper left over from other projects.
