Daisy Doodles Ryan the Footballer/Soccer Birthday Card

This is my third card for Card Crafter’s Circle Design Team and I made this card for my son’s birthday which isn’t until November, but this is much better than making one at the last minute….. like I usually do!These are his club colours and I laid out his shirt and used my Copic Multi liner .3 to add some extra lines in to his shirt and a background. I haven’t got a colour printer yet or I would have used the grass that comes with this Digi called Ryan the Footballer. I used the digi paper with all the soccer words on the background using Yellow Cardstock in my printer and I’m so happy with this card and of course used my Copics to colour him in. I also added orange boots, these are my son’s favorite boots and added a Nike tick on side of boots because he won’t wear any thing except Nike boots for his Soccer. I love the Justin B haircut, my son loves to flick his hair..just like the digi. Soccer should be my middle name too because all conversations in this house revert to Soccer, as I have not one but two Soccer Tragic’s in our house!! I just hope I can find this card when it’s his birthday!

Gingerbread Christmas House

I wanted to make a Gingerbread house since last year when I saw a huge array of Gingerbread house designs at a French Bakery, for the first time. This Christmas my daughter Anita and I knew the timing was right and we spent the morning making our first Gingerbread Christmas House, after we opened our presents! Anita and I had a lot of fun making this together.

In an effort to be frugal I always try to be as economical as possible with my projects as you can see.

As you can’t see…. as once it’s all glued down….. and otherwise it’s just such a waste!Christmas Cards December 2011 003

hAnglar stAnglar Christmas Card

My best friend Vicki Fraser gave me a paper lace doily to add to my stash and I decided to add it to this Christmas card and this is what I came up with. I desperately need more cards than I first though, and have a few more to make as this deadline is fast approaching! Of course I added some snowflakes as you all know I just love snowflakes!!! I added Bling in threes on the corners and I’m happy how that panned out and a bling on her Santa hat to add another sparkly element to go with the golden misted glimmer on the doily.Christmas Card December 2011 002

Christmas Treat Box

It’s such a cute little box and so quick to make, and  M & M’s are perfect to pop in or small mints…any chocolate really. It’s made using a 6x 6 inch designer paper double sided and scored like tic tac toe and then the extra score lines to fold and a flap to finish, easy peasy when you know how. When I get a chance I will do a YouTube tutorial for all you visual learners,…. like me. I really enjoy the challenge of construction and hate reading instructions but it’s so worth it when it’s finished!Christmas Box December 2011 005

Bugaboo Stamps Dino Heart 1

I do hope you will be able to join us for our very first challenge over at Card Crafters Circle.
Our theme this week is
CREATE FOR ANY
CELEBRATION!
The challenge will run from Friday 16th December (Australian Time) for a week
This week we have Bugaboo Stamps sponsoring our challenge with the
winner’s prize - their choice of 7 images!
Here is my card

This is the very cute digital  image I used  and it’s available at Bugaboo Stamps Herebug badge 2
I borrowed my friend Vicki Fraser’s (who has Blog Candy at the moment) small polka dot embossing folder for the smaller heart, which I paper pieced. I also paper pieced his feet and embossed as well, and I think it just adds that something extra.

I cut a strip of cardstock and scored to create a zigzag strip to attach to his head so Dino could have a wobbly head! The other stamps (Nitwit Collections) I used on this card came as a free gift with Australian Simply Cards Magazine Issue 34. I used sandpaper on the embossed footprints and had a ball colouring in with my Copics. This is Basic Grey Ribbon , American Crafts Amplified Designer papers Saturday Night Fever and Boogie and matching American Crafts Elements Round Buttons in Leaf.

I challenged myself to make a Centre Step Card and I’m very pleased with the result and using not just….. non traditional colours, but my favorites!

Butterfly Birthday Cake

I wanted to make my daughter a Butterfly Birthday cake before she is too old for butterflies! She invited about 50 friends from school and her dance studio and the kids all had a ball.

Nanna Joan was here buttering the bread early in the day ready for the sausage sizzle on the BBQ and making up the lolly bags. My son mowed the lawn and blew up the balloons and he was the DJ with all the latest music for the party.  Vicki Fraser came over and helped me get ready and put up all the balloons and decorated the house, helped me bake, vacuum, mop and even cleaned the pool ready for Anita’s pool party disco!Even Vicki’s hubby came over and helped supervise the kids and helped  keep them all fed with plate after plate. It was a real team effort and my hubby home from work just in time to cook the BBQ. There is something about inviting people over that makes me clean the house like a mad woman.

I’m very proud of my cake and it turned out just like the pictures(attached) Anita and I drew when we were designing what we wanted. We started with a Garden with lots of grass (piped with corner cut out of zip lock bag and extra green food colouring added to original green icing) and flowers(Bought at Supermarket) and a bit of Bling (Silver Balls). If you are wondering were on earth I got the cake pan for the Garden layer it’s actually my oven roaster pan that I normally cook a baked Chicken in. The Butterfly top layer is essentially a cake baked in a circle pan and cut up. My oven cooks unevenly so one side of the circle cake was higher than the other and I used this to my advantage so that the top of the butterfly cake was higher and on one of the photos you can see that the butterfly is slightly over the edge, I did this so it looked like it was just about the fly away!

Here are the designs we drew prior to making the cake so we had a plan, and all the right decorations ready  for the cake once it was baked. I lightly sprayed a fine mist of water over the cake to remoisten the icing.Anita's 11th Birthday Party December 2011 126

Card Crafters Circle Design Team

Card Crafters Circle has just announced the New Design Team and I'm very excited to tell you that I am officially now a member at Card Crafters Circle Design Team. Wow, that was quick I made up my mind to apply for the Design Team and was offered the position, careful what you wish for as this dream came true in days!

Circle Card Group-color-design team (6)

Here’s my Bio which has been posted on Card Crafter Circle!

clip_image001

I have two kids, a wholesale roofing and tiling business which I operate from home, and at every opportunity I indulge in my crafting.

I have enjoyed art as long as I could remember and became interested in card making about 4 years ago at a craft fair. I went to see all about Scrapbooking and came home fascinated to learn all the paper crafting techniques instead. I began with stamping and took some private lessons, then joined a group of like-minded girls who all have amazing talents. We still meet up once a month and share our knowledge.

This year I made a promise to myself to become more savvy with technology. This led to my starting a Blog to have a record of all my artistic treasures (which I had previously held onto because I didn’t want to part with them – it was a huge box I can tell you!)

Blogging led me to find a whole new world of like minded crafters who are sharing their ideas, talents and friendship. I am having so much fun!

My blog TrishandTreasure is the perfect virtual record of my work and I have even been encouraged by my Son to start a You Tube Channel for Tutorials which is also called TrishandTreasure. So feel free to pop on over to either or both and check out my Treasures.

I am so excited and proud to be on Pauline’s Card Crafters Circle Design Team and look forward to sharing with you all.

Here is a list of all the other Card Crafter’s Circle Design Team Members:

I will be looking forward to seeing your entries at our first challenge on the 16th December, and I have been given the cutest image to make my very first DT card.

Hugs
