Noble Deer Head Christmas Card

I made this Christmas Card with a masculine theme and used this Noble Deer Head from  Stamp Art Design by Kathryne as my focal point. I love to decorate the house at Christmas time to help celebrate the occasion and it’s great to be able to make my own cards for friends and family to add that personal touch! Dear Head Card August 2012 016

Thank You Card with a Family Baked Dinner!

I have only used fabric once before on a card and it was quite a challenge to think what to do for my card this week. I recently went thru my daughters wardrobe and anything she won’t wear or is too small I popped in bags under the house and plan to take it to the Op Shop. I dug through the bags and found a brand new dress she refused to wear and used my Stampin Up Top Note Die to cut the fabric and a Sizzix Hearts Die to cut some old denim shorts of hubby’s for the heart. Hubby nearly had a heart attack at the chopped up shorts until he realised they were the one’s that were too small for him now!! I used my fingernails to pull at the edges of my fabrics to fray the fabric for a Shabby Chic effect.I used a paper pad I received Free with Australian Simply Cards Magazine recently, the paper is from Webster’s Pages Petite Papers-Collection Combo Pack. It’s great when you can use pre colour coordinated  papers and the card comes together that much easier, I really love this script paper in the background. I borrowed a Tim Holtz Tattered Florals Die from a girlfriend at my group day last week and it’s such a pretty flower.  I used an image from Milk Coffee called I Love you Mom. There’s nothing like a family roast dinner to warm your heart!

Immies Scarf Christmas Card

Christmas is coming and I’ve now made a start to have a few cards ready in time for Christmas! I used Immies Scarf from  The Digi Garden  and I love that cheeky smile! I used a metallic gold paper to cut my snowflakes instead of traditional white to give the card a touch of class and keep a warm cosy colour scheme going, it’s change for me as I usually love to use pink and green. I have never been a scarf wearer but my daughter’s singing teacher has insisted we invest and wear them. We have a nice collection of scarves thanks to Nanna Joan who has knitted us quite a few now, so we have lots of colours to chose from when we go out. July 2012 Sport Carnival & Cards 081

Baby Girl Card

I adore this cute little baby girl in her pram that I picked out at Pink Gem Designs and I just couldn’t wait to colour it in! I always enjoyed dressing my daughter when she was a baby in pretty pink clothes…and still do. Just for a bit of fun I used stickers for a change to embellish my card, and I have thrown a rattle out of the pram in fond memories of my my kids!!! I couldn’t tell you how many times we came home after a day at the shops pushing my pram around and arriving home with baby with just one sock or shoe or missing toys! I did a bit of faux stitching and used acetate to create a bit of a see thru section. I got to use my new Die-namics Flower Border both inside and outside my card and I used glitter glue in the centers. I cut the baby head and bib out and added this as a dimensional layer. I cut my Valerian Flourish Memory Box die cut into three pieces and arranged it to create a Cinderella carriage feel.

Heart Shaped Card -Teddy Loves Hugs & Kisses

I used my favourite colours again Pink & Green and as my daughter said when I had finished my heart shaped card “it’s very bright Mum”, well maybe she is right! We all need a hug sometimes and this is so very cute and bright to cheer anyone’s day, I picked this cute little teddy bear out at Whimsy and the sentiment inside . I borrowed my girlfriends Spellbinder Nested Hearts die (I use it way more than she does) and used my Spellbinder Scallop Hearts for all my layers. The pale pink layer has pretty love hearts and I decided to paper pierce all the scalloped hearts for extra detailing. I tried to make my bear look like he was so loved.. he was losing some fur in places, just like my favourite bear who is so well worn he’s  nearly bald!
