Chef and Hot Pies Tag

It’s winter here in Australia and cold nights and when I’m lucky hubby makes homemade individual hot pies. Mark’s pies are so fantastic and mouth watering delicious… and when I saw this chef image, I just had to have it to work with… as it immediately made me think of my Italian  hubby and his brilliant home cooking!! I found this Webster’s acetate frame and I knew it was perfect as I wanted a red and white check pattern on there somewhere just like tablecloths in little Italian Restaurants and this fitted the bill exactly! I created some cobble stones to make this street scene more authentic. Most chefs wear back and white check pants so I got out my Black Copic  Multiliner to create these checked pants.  I used my Copics to colour this and to create a vintage style green wall with paint half faded. Cascading Card with Sparkle

I really enjoy making construction style cards as it challenges me to use my brain a lot more than a standard card base and gives me so much satisfaction to say to myself “I did that”!  My girlfriend Vicki came over with the Destructions and we made one each and it’s hard to see in the first photo but I found some cardstock in my stash that was white one side and a coral pink on the other side, so it looks rather tricky! This adorable little angel I used is from Whoopsi Daisy Digis and I generously added some glitter which you can see in my second picture, she “Shines like the top of the Chrysler Building”!!!!!! I ended up creating a whole garden behind her with cascading leaves and flowers everywhere. Then to make sure it was extra sparkly I used a mountain of Bling and splashed it everywhere!! I can now say with conviction that leaf die was an excellent investment towards my stash, and lately has had a serious workout!!!

Rainbow Thank You Card

I chose this image from the silhouette range of images from Bugaboo stamps because I could visualize a rainbow as the background and it’s just an amazing piece of art and it was the perfect image for a rainbow theme. When I went to pick up my Copics to start colouring a rainbow I couldn't remember what order the colours went in and had to look it up. Here is the order  for a Rainbow….Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Indigo and Violet if you are like me and not sure of the exact order. I wanted a darker background at the top  to pop the focal point forward and really frame this rainbow and used dimensional adhesive to add even more dimension. I chose a ribbon that picked up all the colours I used in my cardstock. I used Dimensional Magic to add  a 3d effect and it really made a difference especially for my hummingbird! I used my Butterfly embossing folder so it adds another natural element both on the front and the inside of my card. I made this card for my daughters hair dresser and wig lady to thank her for everything she has done and the wonderful friendship they formed.. Altogether  my daughter has used over 50 cards to thank everybody the whole cast and crew after a great show working together in Annie the Musical from Brisbane, it’s been an experience of a lifetime! Mother’s Day Card

It’s so close to Mother’s Day and I made this card for my Mother-in-Law because she loves flowers and especially the colour blue. I really love this lace and added some bling to highlight the flowers on it. I used the green wires on the base of small flowers to create tendrils by wrapping the wire around a bamboo skewer. I decided it was about time I started using up my horded supply of flowers and can’t believe it’s taken me so long to have the confidence to splash the flowers onto my cards! I got this scallop oval punch for my birthday recently and I just love it!! Annie the Musical 2nd May, 2012 047
