Easter Egg Hunt Today

I really wanted to make an Easter card with lots of layers and more embellishments in an attempt to alter my style. I have a mental checklist for the perfect card in my eyes and it’s great to stretch yourself . I also used pastel colours which is also not my normal style. I’m really happy with how this turned out so pretty.I have my stash of Easter Eggs for our Easter Egg Hunt and I will look just like my digi from Dearie Dolls (basket loaded with chocolate eggs and ready to go) and my kids will love it, you’re never too old for CHOCOLATE!!!!

Beach Babies Birthday Card

I just had to have these adorable babies to colour in, I just love those chubby legs and it’s a beach scene that brings back fond childhood memories! It’s always fun to go to the beach and you’re never too old to play in the sand! I used embossing on my light blue cardstock and  dry embossed waves…this is hard to see , colour blue and die cuts for my sentiment. I used a woven wool to look like seaweed and strung thru some cute beach style beads to add to the beach theme!

Charlotte and Butterfly Gate Fold Card

I made this gate fold card using a beautiful gold ribbon to keep it closed. I love this sweet little girl called Charlotte and Butterfly  from Milk Coffee Stamps and I really wanted her in a red dress and to have a white collar and white socks with white lace trim, so cute!!!! I enjoyed my colour scheme of gold for our challenge this week and the gold cardstock was like a mirror I can nearly see myself taking the photo, too funny! The embossed butterflies added to the theme and added a touch of class. I watched a you tube tube tutorial to try to improve my hair colouring and swapped a few colours around and used what I had to try to create golden hair. It is my challenge to myself  this year to improve my colouring in. I really enjoyed colouring in her dress and then adding spots with my white gel pen, that was fun! On the inside, I wanted it to look like a flower so I added a flourish under the die cuts and I think it looks clever. Then I  added another butterfly so the inside and outside theme was carried through.  Annie March 2012 002

St Patrick’s Day Card

Top of the morning to you! With a name like Patricia there is certainly a fair bit of Irish blood running through my veins, so I enjoyed colouring in this leprechaun. I haven’t  been to Ireland yet, but I’d love to go one day! I used a KPM  DOODLES St Patrick’s Day fun digital image. As you know I am a huge fan of the colour green and I had so much fun with my Copics getting different greens and working on my shading.I added a few touches of Glossy Accents and White Gel pen to finish.March 2012 027

Ladybugs Birthday Card

This week I have used an image from Bugaboo Stamps and I’ve had my eye on this image for ages and couldn’t wait to start colouring it in ! It’s called Scene it-Ladybugs. There is something about the colour of a ladybug that is delightful and just so very cute! I added Glossy Accents to add some shine to my ladybugs, flower centers and butterflies. I used Sizzix Buttons #5 and die cut my buttons so they exactly match my card! I added a hit of blue to my colouring to create a sunny spring day! As you can see I made an easel card, because this year I decided to try to do more with construction style cards and projects in an effort to expand my horizons. I used hot pink knitting wool, tied off on my buttons to add some texture to my card and spotted designer paper to accentuate my lady bugs spots!
